EPEES (English Program of Environmental Earth Science for a Sustainable Society) is a fully English-taught master's and doctoral program at Hokkaido University's Graduate School of Environmental Science, open to international students from any academic background who show genuine interest in environmental issues. Students adopt a main thesis theme under a supervisor while simultaneously pursuing a sub-research topic in a different field within a study group, across divisions covering environmental development, earth systems, biosphere science, and environmental materials. The program aims to develop professionals and researchers able to address global and local environmental challenges.
Bachelor's degree in any field; genuine interest in environmental issues; English proficiency test (IELTS Academic/TOEFL-iBT/TOEIC L&R accepted, no minimum score published) taken within 2 years of application.
