Deakin's Master of Teaching (Secondary) is a two-year, VIT-accredited graduate-entry teaching degree (Deakin code E779) preparing students to teach secondary students, requiring a bachelor's degree with a major (and ideally a minor) relevant to the Australian Curriculum plus 4 credit points of secondary curriculum-method study and 60 days of supervised professional placement. Redesigned for 2026 to meet mandated AITSL Graduate Teacher Standards core content, it also embeds Deakin's Berry Street trauma-informed education approach.
