Condensed Matter Physics is offered as part of Hokkaido University's International Graduate Course for Data-driven & Hypothesis-driven Science (IGC-DHS), a fully English-taught master's and PhD track in basic science for international students. The Department conducts research on physical properties of materials spanning theoretical and experimental physics, semiconductors, superconductors, magnetism, nanomaterials, and photovoltaic devices. Doctoral students can additionally access research environments at partner institutions NIMS and RIKEN.
Bachelor's degree in any academic area (for Master's course); admission via Summer Selection (results ~early June) or Winter Selection (results ~late November) under Special Category for International Students.
